We first discovered the Charm & More collection of French boutique properties in St. Tropez, at their Benkerai Hotel designed by Patrick Jouin. Their latest installment comes in the form of a 33-room design property by Jean-Michel Wilmotte in the often-overlooked 9th Arrondissement. A series of interconnecting lobby spaces define the first floor with its soothing lounge marked by a sleek stone fireplace and accents of mid-century Danish and Italian furnishings mixed with modern interior design. Painted, ornate plastering and inlay wood paneling lends a more formal note with deconstructed reception and small bar captured under a glass ceiling. But perhaps the best amenity in the hotel is the starry in-house eatery, La Régalade Conservatoire, that's operated by chef Bruno Doucet and offers a modern spin on the checkerboard floor French bistro.
The Room
Comfortable luxury with a design touch, a series of 33-room marry elements of parquet flooring, honed marble, Oregon myrtle wood and Oriental lacquers for classic rooms that oversize winder, queen bed and open-plan bathrooms with double-sink layout. Larger Deluxe rooms come with bay of windows facing an architectural cityscape of Haussmann architecture and spa-style bathrooms with Japanese soaking tubs while top-of-the-line suites come with split-room layout for living and sleeping.
